We support sea kayak guides, the guiding profession and community through training, certification, professional development, and professional standards.

Our vision is to sustain a community of professionals who build meaningful relationships with people, land, and water by fostering a culture of responsibility, expertise, mentorship, and learning.

I challenged the L3 guide exam in Oct 2024 several days after my official immigration to Canada from Hong Kong. So I’ve officially been a member since 2024. I work full time with Outward Bound Canada (OBC) in a remote capacity from Squamish, BC.

2026 Spring Guides Exchange April 24-26 Nanaimo

April 24 - 26, 2026

The SKGABC Spring Guides Exchange will take place at Camp Caillet in Nanaimo. This secure, fully fenced outdoor facility is managed by Scouts Canada. The camp offers a private, natural setting with a creek, a large covered fire pit with lights, a picnic shelter with a wood stove, fully-fitted professional kitchen, grassy tent sites, and several heated rustic cabins.
