The Salt Spring Adventure Co. requires a day-guide for the summer of 2010 who has excellent people skills, has worked with youth in a recreation setting, is safety conscious, is passionate about the outdoors, and is service oriented. The successful applicant will also be assisting with 6, 5-day multi-activity outdoor ed. programs running in Tofino in the Spring and Fall. The successful application will also be a primary Lead Guide on short kayak tours in class 1 waters.
Ideally, we are looking for a current student who:
• is returning to full times studies in the fall,
• has taken (or will be taking this spring) an SKGABC or CRCA approved day-guides course,
• has their standard or wilderness first aid,
• has a class 4 licence (not essential) and
• is looking to get lots of time on the water. We will provide assistance finding and paying for accommodations on Salt Spring Island.
Salary: Negotiable
Work Term: April 27 - Oct 4
Guiding Area: Gulf Islands / Tofino
