This September, the SKGABC Fall Guides Exchange will be held at Skookumchuk Narrows on the Sunshine Coast! This is an amazing and dynamic location that offers beautiful and exciting opportunity for guides to work on their moving water skills in addition to the regular Exchange fare! Currents will be running at a moderate level, so the Narrows should be within most guides ability levels. There will be opportunities to work on skills in smaller currents as well as riding the main wave. RVSP to to help us plan for the right numbers!

Camping will be located in Egmont, close to Skookumchuk Narrows. Check in at the SKGABC Registration table at the campground! There are plenty of nearby places to stay if you don't want to stay in your tent! Egmont and the surrounding area has a number of great B&Bs as well as hotels and resorts to stay at.

As at all Exchanges, it's best to BYOB (Bring Your Own Boat!) as boats will be quite limited! If you have 2 kayaks and are willing to share, please help support your guide community and bring it out as well! There will be a few boats available to borrow but stock is limited. You are also welcome to bring your own whitewater kayak for playing in the currents as well if you wish.

Full Coast Guard Reguirements are mandatory as always. September can begin to get quite cold again, so full immersion gear (drysuits or wetsuits) are required for all current, rolling, rescues, surfing or rock gardening courses. Please note that helmets are also mandatory for any kayak surfing, current play, or rock gardening courses. The Exchange is a great time to dust off you guiding gear while brushing up on skills, so feel free to pack along your regular guiding kit (VHF, charts, first aid kit, flares, re-warming gear, etc). For our game of kayak polo we do need help having enough boats for those who are interested! Please bring along a whitewater kayak and helmet with a faceguard (even an old hockey helmet will do) to use or lend to another player! Please also provide all your own camping gear as none will be available for loaning out. If you're someone who likes snacking through out the day, please also come prepared with your own treats for in between the provided meals!

$75 per SKGABC Member. Includes most meals, camping option, participation in activities, and chance to win door prizes. Prepay now or pay at the event with cheque or cash.

Let us know you're coming so we can ensure food and goodies for all! Help us know how many to expect by emailing us your RVSP! Giving us the heads up that you are coming is EXTREMELY appreciated! Thanks!

Level 3 Guides:
Need to lead a session as part of your Level 3 Guide On-Going Training Requirement? Plenty of great spots to teach and play! Let us know what you'd like to teach or feel free to check in for suggestions, ideas, local beta, or questions! Depending on need, we may ask you to jump in and assist another session, or help us create more workshop options if numbers are bigger than expected!

An agenda will be posted closer to the Exchange dates, but expect to see plenty of workshops on currents and dynamic water, rescues, strokes, navigation and more!
